HOA Christmas Dance

HOA Dinner was held their Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Bond Ballroom located at 338 Asylum Street
Hartford, with Live band, DJ, Raffle and more.

Ice Skating Fun:

On Saturday, December 17, 2011 HOA members and their family attended the Hartford Police on Ice sponsored by Italian Officer Association, Hispanic Officer Association, Guardians, Emerald Society, PBA, FOP and The Hartford Police Union.  This was a night of laughter, falling on ice and getting right back up and most of all a night of many smiles!!!  Santa Claus was present which brought great happiness to all the kids who were present!  We thank the IOA for putting this together!

HOA Members were Santa Helpers

HOA volunteers assisted the Department of Health and Human Services staff and Santa on December 15, 2011 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at the Neat Building located at 33 Coventry Street, Hartford, CT. (Neat Market Place.

Giving back to our community during Thanksgiving

On Monday, November 21, 2011 the Hispanic Officer Association donated 20 turkeys to the residence of the “Dutch Point Community.” It is our way of saying thank you and giving back to our community. We wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Dinner at Red Rock

On Sunday, November 20, 2011, HOA members assisted the Hartford Guardians in serving dinners to over 200 city residents in need. Thanks to all of the HOA members who volunteered to serve! Flyer here.

On Friday, November 11, 2011 the Hispanic Officer Association celebrated member Sgt. Glendaly Macci who received recognition from the Hispanic American Veterans of Connecticut, Inc. Congratulations on behalf of HOA!

Association Halloween Party

On Saturday, October 29, 2011 the Hartford Guardians, Hispanic Officer Association, Italian Officer Association, Emerald Society, the Hartford Police Dispatchers along with the generous space donation of Hartford Police Pal hosted a Halloween costume party for our members and their families. Despite the appearance of Storm Alfred, everyone had a great time! Members and their families were able to share several hour of fun together making the best with those who ventured out in the snow! Camp Hi-Hoti trip

Saturday, August 27 at 1200 hours, ending on August 28 at 1800 hours.

Food and beverages were be served as well as games, fishing and bouncy house for the kids. For those interested in staying overnight the main house was available.

Location: 444 East Street, Hebron, CT.

 

Roberto Clemente Softball Tournament

On Saturday, July 16, 2011, HOA sponsored a team to support the Roberto Clemente Softball Tournament Fundraiser. We thank everyone who supported and played a tough game despite the hot weather. Good job to all!

HOA Golf Tournament

On Thursday, June 23, 2011, the HOA hosted our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament at the "Tradition Golf Club of Windsor", located at 147 Pigeon Hill Road, Windsor, CT. We had a total of 91 golf players and it was a great success! Despite the rainy weather the golf players made it their best! It was a great time to be surrounded by many great people! We thank everyone who supported our cause! HOA profited $3,824.58 which will go towards Scholarships for our youths in the City of Hartford!

2011 Annual Puerto Rican Day ParadeAnnual Puerto Rican Day Parade

On Sunday, June 5th, 2011 the HOA attended and proudly marched the 2nd Annual Puerto Rican Parade held in Hartford, CT. It turned out to be a beautiful day! It was a day of representing our culture of Puerto Rico and our community within the City of Hartford. Special thanks to Chief Daryl K. Robert, Lt. Luis Rodriguez, Captain Achilles Rethis, HOA members, HPD Cadets and the Honor Guard for making this day an eventful day!

Update on Officer Manuel Pacheco

Officer Manuel Pacheco is a current HOA member who recently underwent surgery for cancer. He is coming along and is very optomistic on his progress. HOA family wishes him a speedy recovery and he remains in our prayers! Get well soon Pacheco!

On Sunday, July 24, 2011 the HOA hosted a cancer benefit on behalf of Officer Manuel Pacheco. We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported this benefit. Without the support this could not have been possible!!! It was a great success and we all wish Officer Pacheco a fast recovery!!!! God Bless to all!!!

George Lopez comedy show

On Saturday, April 16, 2011 HOA hosted a night out at the Mohegan Sun to watch the George Lopez comedy show. It was a great turnout and a night of lots of laughter and joy. It was a great night to see the HOA family and friends come together as a whole and laugh from begininng to end of the show.

Basketball Scholarship Tournament Fundraiser

Basketball Scholarship TournamentOn Saturday, March 12, 2011, the Hartford Hispanic Officers Association teamed up with the Hartford Guardians and gave back to one of our biggest supporters, Connecticut Institute for Community Development Puerto Rican Parade, Inc. We put a team together and played our hearts out for a great cause. Special thanks to: Sgt. Shawn St. John, Det. Earl Baidy, Ofc. Jeffrey Gonzalez, Ofc. Will Smith, Ofc. Isaac Johnson, Ofc. Geral Gorman and Lt. Mack Hawkins. This was a day of having fun, competing against other teams, unity and most of all a day of helping and giving back to our community.

Proceeds from this event will go towards the Puerto Rican Parade in Hartford.

Hispanic Officers Family Day

HOA hosted a Family Day which included a day of faced paced Laser tag at Laser Quest in Newington, Connecticut. It was a time for our members and their families to have fun together. When everyone ran low on energy, we headed over to Chilli's Bar & Grill for a buffet style lunch. It was amazing to see a full of room with kids playing while wearing the biggest smiles – this includes all of our members!

Hispanic Officer Association is an association which shares a great amount of pride to our members, family and community. We have hosted several events to express and share our commitment to our fellow members and family. This year as a committee we held our 26th Annual Christmas Gala, which was held at the Bond Ballroom located at 338 Asylum Avenue. We were able to share our appreciation and love once again to our members, family, friends and many members of the community. It was a wonderful night of great food and great music.
